Shipbuilding inspection and supervision
14/01/2019Transportutvikling AS performs shipbuilding inspections and supervision.
Ports & terminals
02/01/2019The port is a vital link between sea and land, and the port is an important player within several modes of commercial activities and development. It is evident that the port’s important role is underestimated in most plans related to developing local societies and regions.
Market surveys and analyzes
02/01/2019A market survey goal is mainly to achieve knowledge of the related market, its volume, customers/requirements and the competitors. The future, and not the history, is the most important issue. It is also a question of economics and logistical conditions. Our customer often present particular demands which must be addressed. Consequently, the project goal normally varies, depending on the customer’s demands and the nature of the project.
Conferences & seminars
02/01/2019Professional conferences and seminars are venues for professional development and for developing networks. If professionally organized and hosted, such arenas are important for the development of transport and logistics in general.
Route planning and scheduling
02/01/2019Coastal Norway consists mainly of fiords and islands with limited road connections. Due to this, one finds an extensive network of local commuter crafts, ferries and coasters, being vital components in developing local communities. This demands efficient management and well adapted and integrated transport solutions, and such demands are presented both from public players, commercial businesses and the local communities in question.
Terminal Information Booklets (ISGOTT)
03/01/2019Port owners and operators are facing strict international requirements and regulations. Several of these regulations are implemented in our national regulations. The guidelines in ISGOTT (International Safety Guide for Oil Tankers and Terminals) are not as yet implemented in national regulations, but several terminals handling tankers loading and discharging oil products have implemented the ISGOTT code in their own port regulations. ISGOTT applies to oil tankers and oil terminals.
HUB development
02/01/2019Transport HUBs are found both in lesser terminals/ports and international regions. Useful transport solutions and market focus are, however, decisive, when determining the efficiency of a HUB.
Developing transport- and communication plans
02/01/2019Transport- and communication plans are essential in order to ensure a proper transport development, and are often a must when establishing regional development strategies and public plan documents. NTP (National Transport Plan) is being updated every 4. year, and the regional proposals are often late or they are not professional enough to be included in the national processes.
Developing and improving transport solutions
02/01/2019Transportutvikling AS is developing new - and improving existing – transport solutions on regional, national and international basis, focusing on environmentally sound transport and efficient transport chains. We have developed expert competence on marine and rail transport, and the port as an intermodal HUB. We are one of the very few companies in this segment specializing on the northern areas and the challenges which have to be met in these parts of the world: Cold climate, unforeseen weather conditions, considerable tide differences, limited infrastructure, long and challenging distances, etc.
Economic evaluations and financial solutions
02/01/2019One faces economical limitations and conditions whenever making decisions related to any transport- and logistic issue, whether one is launching a new sea route, constructing port infrastructure, or developing a regional HuB with a complete infrastructure and management.
Other Terminal Information Booklets
03/01/2019§ 40 in the Harbour and Fairway Act points out that “Port facilities shall be managed and maintained so that the public’s demands for port- and transport services are met in an efficient and safe way”. Kystverket is at present developing new regulations which means extended demands for information from the port authorities/port facility owners.
